Episode 2 – Pokémon Emergency!

Episode Summary

Season 1 – Indigo League

Finally arriving in Viridian City, Ash is cornered by Officer Jenny who asks why he is carrying Pikachu instead of having it in a Pokéball. He explains that Pikachu doesn’t like Pokéballs and shows her his Pokédex proving that he is one of the Pallet Town Trainers. Jenny takes Ash to the Pokémon Center where Nurse Joy begins treatment on the injured Pikachu. Before Pikachu’s treatment finishes, however, the Center is attacked by two members of Team Rocket.

Full Summary

Ash and Pikachu arrive in Viridian City and are stopped by Officer Jenny. She thinks Ash seems suspicious with a Pokemon in his arms, instead of in a Pokeball. Ash shows his identification (his Pokedex) to her and she believes him and lets him pass. Ash makes it to the Pokecentre in the nick of time to save Pikachu. While Ash is in the waiting room Misty (the girl that got her bike wrecked) shows him the remains of her bike, but forgets about it (for a second) when she hears that Pikachu is in critical condition.

Pikachu ends up recovering fine, thanks to Nurse Joy. While Ash is thanking Nurse Joy, a group of thieves named Team Rocket break into the Pokecentre and say that they are going to steal all of the rare and powerful Pokemon. The thieves are named Jesse, James and Meowth and they call themselves Team Rocket. They make havoc with their Ekans and Koffing, but Pikachu saves the day (again) by using �Pika Power� (electricity). Koffing explodes destroying the Pokecentre, but everyone escapes safely.

Team Rocket ends up floating in their Meowth balloon above the city and they say that Pikachu is really powerful and they vow to capture it. Ash meanwhile enters the Viridian Forest and finds a Caterpie and throws a Pokeball at it to catch it and that is where the show ends.
